Chongqing- Food is an international connection between each country. The intangible cultural heritage and rural experiences program Laowai @Chongqing held another activity on November 27 in Bishan District. It provided an excellent opportunity to seven overseas friends from the U.K., Spain, France, and so on, learned how to cook Laifeng Fish from Long Dajiang, the intangible cultural heritage inheritor of Laifeng Fish.
The intangible cultural heritage and rural experiences program Laowai @Chongqing invited seven overseas friends to cook Chongqing food in Bishan.
With the implementation of a series of national strategies such as the "Belt and Road" Initiative, the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the inland open highlands, and more, Chongqing quickly entered the global development horizon.

With a long history and splendid culture of more than 1,260 years, Bishan is committed to building itself as an international region of Chongqing. At the same time, Laifengyu, which originated in Bishan, is one of the traditional Chongqing dishes popular with most people in China.
Seven overseas friends participated in the event.
The event Laowai @Chongqing – Overseas Friends & Laifeng Fish openly invited foreign friends working and living in Chongqing to visit Bishan's beautiful rural place, learning how to cook Chongqing cuisine, with a unique experience. Through this event, international friends can cook Chongqing food by themselves and taste Chongqing delicacies, therefore, promoting folk culture and Chongqing’s culinary business card.
Fish cooking
There, in Xiangtan Village of Bishan, seven foreign guests participated in making glutinous rice cakes, tofu pudding, and cooking fishes. They also take part in vegetable picking, condiments learning, and other experiences. In this way, food became the bridge to connect people from different countries, achieving cultural exchanges.
