Chongqing - The 23rd Games  Project Trade Fair (GPTF) and the 1st Western China Games Project Trade Fair (WCGPTF) were held at the Nanping International Exhibition and Convention Center Chongqing's Nan'an District on Nov. 30. It's a grand gathering for the country's gaming industry participants and the first time in history for Chongqing to host such an event.

Since word came out that Chongqing is hosting this year's GPTF, industry participants, especially those in the western China region, have been closely eyeing the organizing committee's latest updates and actively engaged in preparing for the event.

More than 100 enterprises signed up in the first two hours of day one, including industry leaders such as ByteDance, NetEase Games, Seasun Entertainment, Perfect World, Xiaomi, Bili Bili, and Baidu Games. By the end of the registration channel, over 1,800 representatives from 1,200 enterprises had signed up to attend the event.

The WCGPTF consists of four subevents, including a policy release on e-sports industry promotion, a public forum on the city's gaming industries, a roadshow for quality game projects, and a fair for game project investments.

WCGPTF aims to be a platform for game and entertainment industry consultation, game project recommendation, game project customization, investment promotion, merger and acquisition, intellectual property trade, serving domestic and international industry players, and pushing for more win-win cooperation among China's e-sports industry participants.

Experts and industry leaders have explored mobile games, PC games, H5 games, webpage games, independent games, 5G Cloud games, IP authorization, internet traffic monetization, pan-entertainment cooperation, guild cooperation, capital matchmaking, overseas proxy, 3rd party services, vocational training, as well as many other relevant fields during the peak of the fair.

According to a bilateral strategic partnership inked earlier this year by the Nan'an District People's Government and the NetEase Media Group, the two parties are to build the NetEase Cultural and Creative Digital Economy Industrial Park in the Chongqing Economic and Technological Development Zone.

With the superb business environment for game industry players and a series of preferential policies to link together the untapped potentials along the internet industry chain, Nan'an can build on its innate strengths in creative culture, ACG, live stream, game release, and become a magnet for influential esports industry participants.

This year's GPTF and WCGPTF is the first major event since the opening of the NetEase Cultural and Creative Digital Economy Industrial Park, and also a testimony to the agreements of the bilateral strategic partnership. More than 20 enterprises signed contracts on-site to set up bases in the NetEase Cultural and Creative Digital Economy Industrial Park.

What's more, the organizing committee of the WCGPTF also compiled a new Chongqing Version of the GPTF Product Catalogue. It was released on the same day as the event for the reference of all participants and investors.
