SW China’s Cities Build Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle Japanese Business Exchange Center

Chongqing- An investment promotion conference was hosted in southwestern China’s Chongqing Municipality on December 4, 2020.

It’s about China-Japan modern service industry cooperation on demonstration projects in Wuhou District, Chengdu City.

Wuhou District and foreign investment enterprise associations in Chengdu and Chongqing signed a contract to build a  Japanese business exchange center of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle.

The district also cooperates with five companies with a total contracted investment volume of  800 million yuan (about USD 122.5 million).

Nobuyuki Watanabe, Consul General of Japan in Chongqing, noted that Japan is a friendly neighbor of China. With the joint efforts of governments and peoples, Japanese-funded enterprises have developed vigorously in the Chengdu-Chongqing region, and people-to-people and economic and trade exchanges are frequent. This event will hopefully expand exchanges, deepen understanding, and lay a good foundation for further cooperation.

Kuang Heng, secretary-general of the Chongqing Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment, said that the association would actively build a platform to develop further Japanese companies based in the Chengdu-Chongqing region.

An official from Wuhou District also said that the district would continue to improve the business environment, strengthen the connection of the associations in Chengdu and Chongqing, corporate collaboration, industrial complementarity, and interactive exchanges of consular resources.

The Sanguo (Three Kingdoms) Creative Park has planned 20 projects, highlighted by three major projects- the city life empowered 5G technology, Three Kingdoms Shuhan city, and China-Japan urban design industrial center (starting zone).

At the investment promotion conference, business people and other participators exchange and communicate with each other.
