Masters of street dance witness the development of the street dance

"Chongqing is a passionate city. It's amazing when the dynamic street dance meets Chongqing! "Wang Yan, the popular dancer from the TV Program "This Is Street Dance", said.

Wang Yan said when he started to learn street dance in 2003, his family didn't support him, for they thought only hooligans would do it. After he went to college, only a few students liked "street dance" and he was one of them. "After I got a reward from 'M-Zone' China's University Student Street Dance Challenge Competition, and I was invited to dance at many important performances, my family began to understand and approve of the street dance."

Street dance TV programs like "This Is Street Dance" don't only provide stages for street dance lovers but also popularize the culture of street dance, and bring freshness to TV programs. With continual development and innovations, street dance is a dance that integrates fashion, art, and culture.

Pu Kai , the deputy director of Street Dance Committee Xinjiang Street Dance League of China Dancers' Association, said he was born in a literary family, so the older generations did not understand him when he started to learn the street dance. When he studied law at university in 1998, he knew the street dance by chance. The moment when he saw the dance, he was fully enchanted by it. He bought videos, learned the dance, and organized a street dance group with several street-dance lovers.

"In 2000, I took a train from Xinjiang to Shanghai, and learned the street dance from Wang Han."  Pu Kai said. He often spent his winter and summer holidays in Shanghai learning the dance with Wang Han. Gradually he mastered its dancing ways. Later, he gave up the chance to pursue his study abroad and set up the DSP street dance studio to promote the dance.

Wang Han, the deputy director of Street Dance Committee of China Dancers' Association,  is known as "the father of China's street dance", and he was also the instructor of  "This Is Street Dance".  His relations with Pu Kai is more like intimate friends than teacher-student relation. "In recent years, with more and more young people liking the street dance and participating in competitions, street dance is favored by more people. " Wang Han said. Compared with 20 years ago, the learning conditions, training systems, and methods of street dance have been improved. "Young people become more confident and happier, and learn to share this kind of happiness with other people through learning the street dance."

The street dance becoming an exchange language among young people

Dance is an important social symbol that bridges people to people and people to society. Every dancer tries to use their body as a medium to express people's emotions and society's care. "The street dance is becoming an exchange language among young people," said Wang Han. Young people can relieve their pressures through street dance and get more united and happier. He also hoped that young people took this chance to improve their dancing skills and make their youth shining.

One of the trainees' parents said, "My son becomes more outgoing after 1-year learning of the street dance." In his opinion, street dance is free dancing art. "Our son loves street dance, so we are very supportive. The street dance training camp provides the best teachers, and I think it a good chance for students to improve their dancing skills and make more friends. "
