Chongqing won the title of China Leading Smart City 2020, Liangjiang New Area and Yubei District China Leading Smart Urban District 2020, and Bishan Smart Industrial Park China Leading Smart Park 2020, at the Asia-Pacific Smart City Award Ceremony.

The selection of Asia-Pacific Smart City winners was carried out by the State Information Center and the International Data Corporation.

As one of the most powerful events in the smart city industry in Asia-Pacific, it mainly aims to select cities and enterprises contributing to the development of this industry, as well as demonstrate the most quintessential and excellent smart city construction projects and the most competitive and influential smart city service providers in this region. Thus, players working on smart city construction can learn design and building from outstanding cases.

According to the Chongqing Big Data Application and Development Administration, the city is promoting data integration. It has optimized the service system to open up data regarding laws, regulations, standards, platforms, innovative applications, and the cultivation of data element markets.

In September and October 2020, Chongqing released relevant measures to regulate the opening of public data in such aspects as the data catalog, system management, management of data opening, and opening of data in diverse ways.

Over 800 categories of data have been available to the public, from 48 municipal-level departments covering market regulation and supervision, taxation, judiciary, transportation, etc. This can be seen that the construction of the Famous Smart City is underway.
