Chongqing- As of the end of November this year, imports of whole vehicles in Chongqing ranked among China's first inland ports, according to the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce recently. With the exception of this year, whole vehicle imports in Chongqing had maintained similar results in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2019. At present, Chongqing is working hard to promote the further development of vehicle import channels.

Since the vehicle port was approved, 18,540 vehicles have been imported through the Chongqing vehicle port following more than six years of development.

In September this year, the Porsche bonded project of Xiyong Comprehensive Bonded Zone came to fruition and saw the importation of 1,880 Porsche vehicles with a value of 987 million yuan （about USD 151 million) by the end of November.

Chongqing is currently working hard to promote the joint development of import channels and industrial integration, enhance inspection capabilities of automobile import ports, build a complete industrial chain for imported automobiles, increase investment promotion, and promote further construction of vehicle import channels in various respects.

The aim is to encourage more European auto original equipment manufacturers and international logistics companies to expand business activities in Chongqing with the effect of gathering an industry cluster.

At present, whole vehicle imports have become the most stable and valuable return source goods for the China Railway Express to Europe, a fact which is of great significance for improving the city’s automobile industry chain and promoting the construction of the import commodity distribution center.
