Chongqing - A press conference of Chongqing Municipal Culture and Tourism Development Commission was held in Fengdu on Dec. 22, officially launching the months-long Chongqing Winter Tourism Season campaign, which included more than 160 events and activities for citizens to enjoy during the three occasions of New Year's Day, Spring Festival, and Lantern Festival.

With its distinctively unique geographic features and unparalleled social media influences, the "8D Cyberpunk Capital" city of Chongqing has been increasingly becoming one of the country's most popular and trending tourist spots.
Even though it was generally considered as a southern city, Chongqing still enjoys a relatively large amount of snowfalls in its peripheral high-altitude counties and districts, such as Fengdu, Wulong, Nanchuan, Shizhu, and many other southeastern and northeastern regions.
Zhong Qianyuan, an official with the Chongqing Municipal Culture and Tourism Development Commission, announces the beginning of the winter tourism season.
"We're launching this year's winter tourism season with more than 160 ice-and-snow themed activities such as hot spring season, ice and snow festival, and folk culture festival," said Zhong Qianyuan, an official with the Chongqing Municipal Culture and Tourism Development Commission who inaugurated the opening ceremony of the winter tourism season.
Zhong mentioned just a few of the scheduled winter activities to be held at the press conference, such as the 2020 Fairy Mountain Ice and Snow Season in Wulong District, the 22nd China Chongqing (Jinfo Mountain) Ice and Snow Festival in Nanchuan District, the 1st Fengdu Nantian Lake Ice and Snow Season in Fengdu County, and the 3rd Chongqing Ice and Snow Sports Season Series Activities & 1st Chongqing National Snowboard Challenge in Shizhu County.
Officials and representatives of the city's 38 counties and districts, as well as major tourist attractions, are invited to the conference.
Meanwhile, Wanzhou District will host the Yangtze River Three Gorges Food Culture Festival & Wanzhou Grilled Fish Festival, Wuswhan County will the 5th "Red Leaf Sends Love, Swear by All the Gods" Themed Event, Dazu District will host the 6th "Dazu Black Goat" Food Culture and Tourism Festival, and Yunyang County will host the Three Kingdom Themed Light Festival. These are all expected to bring tourists to brand new "winter tour" experiences, according to Zhong.
The press conference also invited culture and tourism officials from Chongqing's 38 counties and districts, as well as representatives of the city's major tourist attractions, to promote their own tourism resources.
Spokespersons for Nanchuan Culture and Tourism introduce and showcase the beauties of Jinfo Mountain in four seasons.
Nanchuan District, Shizhu County, Chengkou County, Youyang County, Fengdu County, and Wansheng Economic Development Zone even had spokespersons on stage to introduce and showcase their winter tourism products and golden tourist routes, which aroused rounds of applause among the audience.
The launching ceremony was organized by the Fengdu County Culture and Tourism Development Commission and the Fengdu Tourism Development Construction Administrative Committee and sponsored by the Chongqing Municipal Culture and Tourism Development Commission and the Fengdu County People's Government.
