Chongqing – I know what you’re upsetting about — there’s no snowfall in downtown Chongqing and you feel like you’re missing something… you also want to post selfies and videos of you skiing and playing with a snowman, just like your friends in the north did — well, I’ve got just the right place for you to go and enjoy your long-expected winter, Dakini Mountain Ski Resort.
Located in the national AAAA-rated Nantian Lake Scenic Area in northeast Chongqing’s Fengdu County, the Dakini Mountain Ski Resort is one of the largest professional alpine skiing venues in southwest China. It covers an area of over 400,000 square meters and has a total investment value of more than 330 million yuan. The ski resort is on track to open to the public this winter for the first time after major upgrading and maintenance.
In order to make it qualify for hosting international professional events, Songyue Group, the ski resort’s principal investor and stakeholder, invited the same designing crews of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics to fully utilize the geographic features and blend in the climatic conditions.
Dakini Mountain Ski Resort boasts three professional alpine cable ski trails, multiple preliminary and intermediary ski trails, which are built in strict accordance with international standards, and an 80,000-square-meter special snow playground. There’re also 16 ring roads, a DIY parent-child playground, a zorb ball playground, and many other entertainment areas.
What’s more, the professional supporting facilities, equipment, and training mechanisms make it an ideal venue for hosting domestic and international matches during the Winter Olympics. As it’s official slogan says, “Dakini aims to become a skiing enlightenment site for Chongqing people.”
