Chongqing - On the afternoon of Dec 29, the Prize-Awarding Ceremony of the 1st Chongqing Culture and Tourism Photography Competition was held at the Observation Deck of Raffles City. Fifty-eight photos won awards.
The prize-awarding ceremony
Launched in September, the competition had received 2040 pieces of entries from 198 participants. “These works thoroughly display the glamorous landscapes and cultures of Chongqing. Themes of these works display multiple aspects of the city, such as the rural areas, mountains and rivers, architectures, as well as folk customs, cultural heritage, and daily life. ” One person from the organizer said.
The photo winning the first prize
According to the final result, The Night Of Peninsula by Zhou Yongfu won the first prize; Salt Well And Terraced Fields by Zhang Peng and The Sea Of Clouds Of Jinfo Mountain by Zhai Mingbin won the second prize; The Morning Of Chongqing by Li Bo, Beautiful E’gongyan Overpass by Lin Lijiang, the third prizes were presented to The Autumn Of Ancient Town by Yang Min, Silent Night Of Two Rivers by Tang Anbing, and Super Moon by Wang Jiang. Excellent prizes went to the other 50 works.
Prize-awarding ceremony
The integration of mountains and rivers with architectures, bridges, and transportation forms lots of unique tourist attractions that are popular online such as Raffles City, Hongyadong, the Yangtze River Cable Way, the convergence of two rivers, the view of monorail train going through the building and so forth. Chongqing has become an essential place for photographers as well. Zhou Yongfu, the first prize winner, said his photo witnessed the development of Chongqing. Later he would shoot more photos to display the beauty of the city and reflect its development.
The photo exhibition
According to the introduction of the Chongqing Municipal Development Committee of Culture and Tourism, Chongqing has stepped up its efforts to build Chongqing as a famous international culture and tourism destination in recent years. It has garnered titles “One of the Top 10 Tourism Destinations in the World,” “One of the Top 10 Tourism Destinations with Greatest Developing Potential,” and “the Capital of World Hot Springs.” Meanwhile, it is accredited as the city with the fastest growth in tourism in the world by WTTC. In 2019, Chongqing received 657 million visits.
These winning photos will be exhibited at the “Shujin Area” of Raffles City from Dec 28, 2020, to Mar 28, 2021.
