According to the Chongqing Market Regulation Bureau, consumers can scan the Business Credit Code to check registration, administrative penalties, complaints, commitments, and other information of merchants, watch the whole process of food processing in catering enterprises in real-time, and understand grades of food safety and remarks from regular supervision evaluation. They can also make a complaint by scanning the QR code in the case of disputes.

The operators of shopping malls and business circles can use the QR code to participate in merchants' daily service and management. For instance, they can check the shops' information by scanning the QR code to discover latent risks and offer rectification suggestions.

Competent departments of market regulation can know all information about shops via the QR code. Previously, regulatory data was scattered in various business systems, and supervisors needed to visit different systems to grasp relevant information. The QR code addressed the problem, reducing regulatory cost, and improving efficiency.
