By VIVIAN YAN|Jan 11,2021

Chongqing- Four major projects for building Guoyuan Port into an important national logistics were officially launched in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality on January 4.

These major projects were Yuzui Railway Freight Station South Field, Cosco Shipping Guoyuan Integrated Logistics Base Project, Guoyuan Bonded Logistics Center (Type B) Phase II, and Multimodal Transportation Smart Operation Center in Liangjiang New Area.

Guoyuan Port is currently the largest inland water, rail, and public transportation hub port in China and an important shipping hub connecting the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Belt and Road.

The Yuzui Railway Freight Station South Field, which launched its construction on the same day, has a total land area of 545 acres. It aims to build an international container yard with an annual delivery of 600,000 TEUs internationally and domestically. The Field is scheduled to be completed in 2022.

Based on the geographical advantages of the inland opening portal of the Liangjiang New Area and the inland international logistics hub of Guoyuan Port, the Cosco Shipping Guoyuan Integrated Logistics Base Project will create an important undertaking ground for supporting logistics services, including the multimodal transportation of goods in railway, highway, and water.

According to the person in charge of the Cosco Shipping Project, the Project will provide a full range of services for domestic and foreign customers, specifically on their demand for multimodal transportation of resources and delivery of bulk commodity futures, after its completion.

The construction of the second phase of the Orchard Bonded Logistics Center (Type B) has an area of 105,000 square meters and a total investment of 500 million yuan (77.6 million U.S. Dollars), including three bonded warehouses and viaducts, with a target to be completed in October this year. The center will be able to provide enterprises with services, including bonded storage in the future.
