Guoyuan Port Reached over One Billion USD in Imports and Exports

By VIVIAN YAN|Jan 18,2021

Chongqing- The trade volume of Chongqing Guoyuan Port National Logistics Hub has reached 6 billion yuan (0.9 billion U.S. Dollars) of import and 1.5 billion yuan (0.2 billion U.S. Dollars) of export in 2020. The Hub will continue to make efforts in channel gathering and hub construction.

Chongqing Guoyuan Port National Logistics Hub's trade volume has reached 0.9 billion U.S. Dollars of import and 0.2 billion U.S. Dollars of export in 2020.

The Hub, located at the China (Chongqing) Pilot Free Trade Zone, is the connection point of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Belt and Road and serves as a base for demonstrating China-Singapore (Chongqing) integrated and multiple modal transportations.

The New International Land-Sea Corridor, China Railway Express, the golden waterway of the Yangtze River, and other huge international corridors have all achieved seamless connection at Guoyuan Port, providing the export-oriented enterprises with efficient, diverse, and low-cost logistical service.

The role of the Guoyuan Port, which serves as a crucial hub, has become increasingly significant. Its improving transportation and logistics conditions have increased Chongqing’s influence on Belt and Road countries' goods sources and the cities alongside.

As the only port-type national logistical hub in West, Guoyuan Port National Logistics Hub encourages promoting the "four-way" channel logistics, logistics belt economy and trade, and economic and trade belt industries, giving full play to its role as a bridge, linking Central Asia and Europe on one end, and the ASEAN market on the other.

In addition, Guoyuan Port and Singapore Port, serving as “dual hubs” for each other, will jointly promote The New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor's construction and strengthen cooperation between regions in Western China and ASEAN.

Specifically, Chongqing and Singapore enterprises will work together to establish heavy asset and light asset companies. The work for heavy asset companies is to establish International Multimodel Transport Base, whereas light asset companies aim to build International Multimodel Transport System. The creation of a Sino-Singapore Multimodel Transport operating platform is under their plan as well.

Meanwhile, Chongqing Guoyuan Bonded Logistics Center (Type B), a critical port facility at Guoyuan Port National Logistics Hub, can apply functions including bonded warehousing, international logistics and distribution, import and export, entrepot trade, porting, simple processing, value-added services, and so on.

The first phase of the Chongqing Guoyuan Bonded Logistics Center (Type B) project was officially put into operation in January 2020, and it has entered the Corning Glass Western Logistics Center. Statistics show that the Chongqing branch had an import and export volume of over 700 million yuan (108 million U.S. Dollars) through Chongqing Guoyuan Bonded Logistics Center (Type B) since this January.

In the future, the inland international logistics hub of Guoyuan Port will promote connecting hubs and linking ports with multi-function. It is also going to build platforms with various channels.
