Chongqing - On Jan. 20 - 21, the Chongqing Foreign Affairs Office (FAO) invited consuls (general), consulate staff members, other diplomats to watch the live broadcasting of Chongqing Two Sessions opening. After listening to Mr. Wang Jiong's (the Chairman of Chongqing CPPCC) work report, iChongqing conducted an interview with Mr. Dzmitry Yemelyanau, the acting head of Belarusian Consulate General in Chongqing.

In the interview, Yemelyanau stated that 2020 is a challenging year for Chongqing and the world. Chongqing has been affected by the epidemic and floods. However, it can be understood from the work report of the Standing Committee of the 5th CPPCC Chongqing Committee that Chongqing's economy and society have developed steadily, and the living standards of Chongqing people have been continuously improved. These outcomes have benefited from the effective and rapid epidemic prevention and control, as well as the major benefits brought by the construction of the "Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle". Chongqing has given full play to its advantages in location, logistics, and transportation to promote the construction as the opening-up highland and achieve economic and social prosperity.

According to Mr.Yemelyanau, the Ambassador of Belarus to China will visit Chongqing next week, and the Consulate General of Belarus in Chongqing is ready for its opening. For the consulate general, “its most important plan is to develop a good relationship with Chongqing”, he said.
