The auto industrial chain supply-demand matchmaking platform of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, established by economic and information technology departments of Sichuan and Chongqing in June 2020, has assisted 20 auto/auto part companies in the two places in reaching purchasing contracts valuing 800 million yuan (about 123.7 million U. S. dollars), according to the Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Commission recently.

"The Platform makes purchasing easier," said Cai Quan, General Manager of Brand Development Department of Chongqing Yanfeng Adient. He introduced that, working on the production of car seats, was in urgent need of some plastic parts in October 2020. By posting their demand on the Platform, the company received a Sichuan counterpart's response within one week. The two signed a purchasing agreement worth more than 20 million yuan annually.

Cai said companies could find suppliers to match more efficiently and accurately via the Platform. Recently, Chongqing Yanfeng Adient has been in close contact with an auto company in Sichuan, which needs 20,000 sets of seats each year. If they can reach an agreement, the company will have an order bringing in 60 million yuan of revenue each year.

Specifically, Chang'an Automobile in Chongqing also benefits from the Platform. Chen Jin, Deputy General Manager of Purchasing Center of Chang'an Automobile, noted that the company had 700 odd supporting partners, of which more than 200 are in Sichuan and Chongqing. The Platform further expands the channel for Chang'an Automobile to select better suppliers.

"Sichuan and Chongqing have a large auto market," said the Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Commission head. He thinks the two places had 45 auto and 1,600 auto parts companies, with an annual output value and an annual output of over 600 billion yuan, and nearly 3 million cars.

The number of auto part companies in Sichuan and Chongqing working on power systems, interior and exterior trim, chassis, etc., exceeds 300. They can directly cooperate with auto companies, and the partnership is expected to create a yearly value of around tens of billions of yuan.
