Chongqing, a city known for its marvelous night view, is also home to a group of unknown "Spider-Men" who light up the city at night. They put their life on the line to beautify the city.

In the early morning of January 11, Zhou Fan and his colleagues from the bridge lighting maintenance team of the Urban Lighting Management Administration of Chongqing came to the Egongyan Bridge to replace the main cable of the broken lighting. "I used to be a street lamp maintainer. In 2019, I started to maintain the lighting of river-crossing bridges. Chongqing's night lighting has been gradually upgraded; hence our scope of work has extended from maintaining general lighting to maintaining landscape lighting." Zhou Fan said.
After working in the air for seven hours, they finally replaced the two 16-meter cables.
At the end of the year, they have to handle an extremely heavy workload of bridge maintenance and identification of hidden dangers. At 7:30 that night, Caiyuanba Bridge lit up on time, like a rainbow across the Yangtze River. The maintainer Rao Xianqiang and his workmates climbed onto the "rainbow" to deal with the cable lights' abnormal signal and the wall washer lights.
Workers hung on one side of the E'gongyan Bridge to work on January 11.
Rao Xianqiang, 39 years old, is the oldest member of the bridge aerial work team. "Although outsiders consider our job risky and laborious, despite that, we are able to feast on imposing scenery that others cannot see." He said with a smile as he wrapped himself in a cotton wadded jacket under his overalls.
Since 2020, the overall improvement of the center of the "Two Rivers and Four Riversides" has been launched across the board, demonstrating the glamour of Chongqing as "A Land of Natural Beauty and A City with Cultural Appeal." The upgrading and maintenance of a diversity of lighting fixtures have greatly contributed to the city's improvement. Through the continuous efforts of lighting workers, Chongqing will appear more picturesque.
