Chongqing- The Liangjiang New Area has actively promoted the construction of inland opening up, focusing on the accelerated development of high-quality open economy and foreign businesses.

In 2020, the GDP growth rate of the Liangjiang New Area ranked Chongqing's first for three consecutive quarters, which remained the percentage points that higher than the Chongqing city of 4, 4.1, and 3.1. Specifically, its GDP growth rate reached 4.8% in the first half of the year, 6.7% in the first three quarters, and 7% in the whole year.

Meanwhile, within the same year, the import and export volume of the Liangjiang New Area increased by 16% against the economy downward; the volume of trade with countries along the Belt and Road increased by 21%; the volume of trade in service and cross-border e-commerce transactions accounted for 41.8% and 70% respectively. One hundred six new foreign enterprises mushroomed with a total investment of 1.8 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 9.3% and 124% year-on-year.

The Liangjiang New Area has accelerated the gathering of high-end, high-quality, and high-tech industrial projects. Among them, strategic emerging industry projects and scientific, technological innovation projects accounted for 96% and 42.9% of the contracted investment, up 17.6% and 163%, respectively.

As a global automotive industry base and electronic information industry base, the Liangjiang New Area promoted the resumption of work and production in Chongqing. It was approved to become the fourth one in China and the first one in Western China for the national Internet of Vehicles pioneer zone.

In 2020, the automobile industry in the Liangjiang New Area followed the premiumization and intelligence trend, which improved the brand value. The output of value increased by 22.8%. The UNI-T, which serves as the first series in Chang’an’s new products, has become a classic for domestic brands in the middle and high-end markets therein.

The innovative sector of the industry also increased simultaneously. In 2020, the high-tech manufacturing and strategic emerging industries in Liangjiang New Area grew by 13.3% and 12.9%, respectively, accounting for 52.7% and 57.4% of the total industrial output value. The output value of integrated circuits and smart hardware increased by 103% and 90%, while smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches increased by 9.8%, 28%, and 90%, respectively.

In 2020, the high-tech manufacturing and strategic emerging industries in Liangjiang New Area grew by 13.3% and 12.9%.

In order to further support the eco-friendly growth, new energy vehicles and intelligent cars in the Liangjiang New Area account for 55% and 60% of Chongqing. The SF5, the new car of SERES( a car company in Chongqing ), was launched therein, becoming the world's first mass-produced new energy vehicle with a range of more than 1,000 kilometers.

Next, the Liangjiang New Area will focus on the inland opening-up and smart city in Chongqing. It centers on becoming a high-quality development leading area and a high-quality living zone, speeding up the development.
