Recently, the residents of Lianglu Sub-district, Yubei District found that the nearby Shuanglonghu Park was given a new look in the new year: Beautiful artistic lighting enhanced the beauty of Shuanglong Lake' night skyline and some sculptures, inscriptions, platforms sticking out into the water and other cultural landscapes were added, breathing new life into the old park and making it an excellent place for the public to go in leisure time.

Shuanglonghu Park, built in October 2005, lies in the center of Lianglu Sub-district, Yubei District. As the city's first open park, it has a total area of more than 250,000 square meters, a water surface area of nearly 190,000 square meters, and roads along the lake of about five kilometers in total. It is a rare green space with platforms sticking out into the water in the city's main urban area and an ideal place for residents to take a walk and keep fit at their leisure.

In June 2020, Yubei District launched the project of creating cultural landscapes and sculptures around Shuanglong Lake. It takes the traditional Chinese culture, traditional virtues of "benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, trustworthiness, loyalty, filial piety, integrity, shame awareness and courage," socialist core values, statues of ancient and modern Chinese celebrities, and good deeds of virtuous people in Yubei as cultural themes throughout Shuanglonghu Park.

Besides, quite a few new facilities for the convenience of the people were offered, including platforms sticking out into the water, benches, pavilions, and galleries in the ancients' style. The newly installed landscape lights, garden lights, ambient lights, and spotlights along the lake are integrated with the shimmering lake and lakeshore scenery at night, forming a gorgeous urban cultural landscape.

The five-kilometer lakeside project comprises 17 groups of cultural attractions based on vacant lands like cement slopes, mudflats, and uncultivated soil slopes. These landscapes involve the ten traditional virtues, historical celebrities, and statues, and stories of modern patriotic democrats, aiming at spreading, in a subtle way, the excellent Chinese traditional culture and socialist core values to the public.

Zhou Lu, the project leader of the Shuanglong Lake cultural landscapes of Yubei Airport Infrastructure Company, introduced, "It is a key project for public well-being of Yubei District to create cultural landscapes and statues. With an investment of about eight million yuan, it has been fully completed."
