Keyword 1: A safe and peaceful China

In its 14th Five-year plan, China will focus on ensuring the stability of its national economy as well as carry out strategies for safeguarding food, energy and resources, financial security, and public capacity across the board. This will help maintain social stability as well as public safety. Peace is a basic requirement of people’s health and happiness, and the developmental foundation of a country and a nation. Only by building a more peaceful China, can the people live and work in peace and be content in a stable and orderly society.

Keyword 2: Reform and opening-up

China is going to deepen its reform and opening up, build a new economic system at a higher level, and promote the high-quality development of the belt-and-road initiative, to establish a global network of free trade zones. Over the past 40 years, China’s economic development has achieved a lot, thanks to the policy of opening up. In the 14th Five-year plan period, China’s reform and opening-up will take new steps to ensure that China’s door will not close, but open even wider.

Keyword 3: New urbanization

China will pursue an in-depth advancement of a new human-centered urbanization strategy, speeding up the urbanization of the population to 65%. The goal is to also improve the quality of the overall urban environments and their future developments. In recent years, the standard of living in China has increased and is continuously improving. This is a key element in the plan because only when the people live in safe and comfortable environments can they pursue their dreams and aspirations for themselves and their country.
