Chongqing- The grand opening ceremony for CNSC Duty-Free took place at the Changjiahui Mall in Danzishi Old Street, Nan’an District, on March 19th. 

As the first Chinese duty-free outlet to complete relocation and upgrades in the southwest region, CSNC Duty-Free themed the ceremony on Chongqing meeting the world. The hope is for Chongqing consumers to enjoy high-quality branded goods from all over the world.

CSNC Duty-Free is the first nationwide duty-free business enterprise in China and holds the only national operating license for domestic foreign exchange duty-free shopping.

Leaders and representatives of government and business cut the ribbon to unveil the second CSNC Duty-Free outlet in Chongqing officially.

The company operates 30 duty-free outlets nationwide, covering 20 provinces, and Changjiahui is the second store in Chongqing following Jiangbei International Airport.

CSNC Duty-Free offers nearly 160 brands covering product categories such as perfume, cosmetics, food, Japanese beauty products, watches, boutique accessories, and more.

Consumers can now freely enjoy a more convenient first-class shopping experience thanks to the Buy As You Go policy. All Chinese passengers aged over 16 who have re-entered the country within 180 days can use their passports to purchase duty-free goods, with customs authorities' allowances.

Due to the pandemic, Chinese nationals who re-entered the country between August 1st, 2019 and December 31rd 2020, have extended purchase validity up to June 30, 2021, and may purchase duty-free goods with valid ID and immigration records.

It is hoped the new CSNC Duty-Free outlet in Changjiahui Mall will remedy the impact on foreign goods consumption due to the pandemic.

The new store is running a promotion between March 18-21 that offers multiple benefits, including 300 yuan discount vouchers with time limitations, 200 yuan vouchers for all categories, and 100 yuan vouchers for certain brands. A range of products in the imported food section offer discounts as high as 90%, while top value promotions are available on many others.

As a result, it is hoped the new store will create a boom in duty-free shopping and contribute to accelerating consumer recovery in Chongqing.

The successful opening of CSNC Duty-Free in Chongqing will effectively remedy the impact on overseas goods consumption due to the pandemic.
