Chongqing- The Chongqing Municipal Copyright Society held its inaugural ceremony and the first meeting on March 26th. After the meeting, the project of High-Quality Development Promoted through Copyright Value Linkage in Sichuan and Chongqing was signed. At the same time, an event themed on the promotion of digital copyright was also held.

Henceforth, departments, associations, and enterprises work closely to build a western highland for development in the copyright industry.

The establishment of the Chongqing Copyright Society has raised great excitement in the industry. Yan Xiaohong, chairman of the Copyright Society of China, sent a congratulatory letter and said, "This is an important measure in protecting intellectual property rights and optimization of the business environment in Chongqing, with great significance for promoting copyright development in industry and enhancing cultural soft power in Chongqing."

The event involved a signing ceremony and the award of institutional plaques, where eight industrial parks, including the Chongqing Liangjiang Digital Economy Industrial•Internet Park, were designated as a Chongqing copyright demonstration park, while 25 enterprises were recognized as Chongqing copyright demonstration units.

Sichuan and Chongqing copyright societies, Chongqing Liangjiang New Area and Sichuan Tianfu New Area signed a strategic cooperation agreement respectively. Moreover,  fourteen companies in Sichuan and Chongqing that operate in the copyright industry signed project cooperation agreements.

A representative from the Chongqing Municipal Copyright Administration commented that since the Chongqing-Chongqing copyright cooperation framework agreement was signed in July last year, both sides have jointly established a cross-regional copyright protection mechanism, promoted the open sharing of copyright services, and further strengthened cooperation on a practical level.

The event will serve as an opportunity for Sichuan-Chongqing to play a demonstrative role in protecting original works and IP incubation while providing a strong voice for copyright as the west becomes a development highland in the copyright industry.
