Chongqing- On March 30, the investment promotion and multi-project agreement signing event of Sichuan-Chongqing Gaozhu New Area weas held in Chongqing. The first of its kind after the establishment of the New Area attracted more than 100 billion yuan.

At the event themed with "Achieve Your Dreams in Gaozhu," agreements were signed for 18 industry projects with a total investment of 23 billion yuan and 18 infrastructure projects with an agreed investment of 125 billion yuan, and 23 financial institutions expressed their intention to grant credit of 116 billion yuan, involving such sectors as education, finance, infrastructure, new materials, water affairs, electronic information, and equipment manufacturing.

Among the equipment manufacturing projects, the most eyecatching ones are Ziyuan PET special fiber auto parts production base and the Longke automation equipment production base. With a proposed investment of 150 million yuan, the former will focus on the R&D and application of special composite fiber textile materials. With a proposed investment of 350 million yuan, the latter will devote itself to the R&D and manufacturing of new energy electric vehicles and integrated, prefabricated intelligent protection platforms.

At the event, Chongqing Water Group and Yangtze Ecology and Environment Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the Preparatory Committee of Sichuan-Chongqing Gaozhu New Area. They will establish a joint venture to accelerate scientific coordination as well as high-level planning, construction, and operation of such projects as water supply, sewage treatment, sludge disposal, and comprehensive governance of the water environment within the scope of the New Area. In addition, Chongqing Industry Polytechnic College will select a campus site in the New Area to provide talent support for the manufacturing industry development in the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.

The New Area's planned area is 262 square kilometers, including part of the administrative areas of Gaotan and Tantong Towns, Linshui County, Guang'an City, and Cizhu and Dawan Towns Yubei District. At present, the New Area's constructed area is about 6 square kilometers, and the registered population reaches 176,000. As 129 enterprises have settled in, the equipment manufacturing industry cluster centering on auto R&D has been initially formed.
