Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade(referred to as “WCIFIT”) is an important window for Chongqing to carry forward opening up and cooperation. According to the Executive Committee Office of WCIFIT on April 7, the 3rd WCIFIT will be held at Chongqing International Expo Center from May 20 to 23, 2021.

The theme of this year’s fair is “Joining hands with the west for a bright future.” The conference will be composed of theme exhibitions, forums, economic and trade negotiations, and signing contracts.

In the theme exhibition area, this year's Fair will be divided into eight theme exhibition halls, including Chongqing exhibition area, international exhibition area, regional cooperation area (province, autonomous region, and city), Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle exhibition area, famous enterprise exhibition area, automobile, and motorcycle industry exhibition area, health industry exhibition area, regional cooperation (Chongqing district and county) exhibition area.

The New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor is the key point of this year’s fair. On May 21, the conference will hold the opening ceremony of WCIFIT and the International Cooperation Forum for the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. Around the main theme forum, a series of conferences and forums with the theme of "consulting, co-constructing, sharing, and developing" will also be held successively at the WCIFIT.

As an important window for Chongqing to carry forward opening up and cooperation, this year’s fair is also an essential opportunity for Chongqing to communicate with the world. "RCEP and Chongqing Opening up" International Cooperation Forum, important business meeting - Asian Enterprise Conference Chongqing Summit, High-End Dialogue of the Forum for High-Quality Development of Transnational Management, and "Belt and Road" Overseas Business Organization Annual Meeting will all present one after another.

It is worth noting that the Chongqing Summit of the Asian Business Conference will be held for the first time and will invite former politicians from Asian countries and leaders of well-known multinational companies to give speeches.

In addition, there will also be a series of industry theme forums, promotion meetings, and competitions held simultaneously, such as the Auto Parts Industry Double Cycle Forum in Western China, the Big Health Industry Summit Forum, the Chongqing-Algeria Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference, investment negotiations and procurement matchmaking activities and more.

The current fair is hosted by The Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Water Resources, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the Chinese Federation of Overseas Chinese, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the Chongqing Municipal People's Government. The preparations for the exhibition are currently ongoing.
