Chongqing —Southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality has issued more than 120 policy documents on optimizing the business environment, according to a press conference on April 14. In the next step, Chongqing will simultaneously explore the collaborative optimization of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle's business environment.

The business environment reflects the attractiveness, influence, and competitiveness of a city.

In recent years, Chongqing's series of efforts to optimize the business environment has achieved fruitful results. The reporter learned that in the 2020 China Business Environment Report released by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Research Institute and the 21st Century Economic Research Institute, Chongqing ranked fifth among 196 cities.

In November 2020, Chongqing, together with Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and other cities, was selected as one of the first pilot cities for business environment innovation in China. In the China City Business Environment Report 2018 released by China Central Television, Chongqing ranked fifth overall. Among them, the innovation environment ranks third, and the social environment ranks second.

Zhu Jiang, a chief economist of the Chongqing Development and Reform Commission, introduced that, in the next step, our city will accelerate the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and thoroughly implement the Regulations of Chongqing Municipality on Optimizing the Business Environment. Through learning domestic advanced regional experience and practices, combined with our city's actual situation, Chongqing will accelerate the introduction of the implementation plan for optimizing the business environment in 2021 and simultaneously explore the collaborative optimization of the business environment in Chengdu and Chongqing.

In addition, Chongqing will also create a strong reform atmosphere, continue to promote business policies, and promptly publicize and report on the practice and effectiveness of optimizing the business environment. Besides, Chongqing will also strengthen the interpretation of reform measures and create a good atmosphere for business development.
