Chongqing- The 3rd Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT) will set up a comprehensive health care services exhibition hall for the first time and will focus on displays of cutting-edge products, technologies, and achievements in the field, according to the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce Monday.

WCIFIT will be held at the Chongqing International Expo Center from May 20-23rd.

In recent years, China has vigorously promoted health care awareness among the people, while comprehensive health care services stand to gain from a beneficial policy environment. As a result, big health is now ushering in a bright era of accelerated development.

Chongqing Municipality has attached great importance to development in the large-scale health industry. It has successively issued policy releases.

Such policies will vigorously enhance competitiveness across various health industries in the municipality, such as in medical treatment, pharmaceuticals, health care, and biological products. They will also assist in establishing industry brands and promoting development so that comprehensive health care becomes a major industry.

According to statistics, the current market size of big health in China stands at 8.7 trillion yuan (about USD 1.34 trillion), and it is expected to reach 16 trillion yuan by 2030. As a result, data shows that development in the health industry of Chongqing has achieved remarkable results.

In 2019, the municipality-wide health care industry generated an operating income of about 600 billion yuan, with an added value of 158 billion yuan.

The following year, the added value generated by the pharmaceutical industry in Chongqing Municipality increased by 4.5% over the previous year, while annual fixed asset investments in the health sector increased by 15.5%.

The comprehensive health care pavilion will focus on big health, big data, and big ecology through exhibitions highlighting characteristics of western China, international cooperation, key industries, and construction of a public health system in the post-epidemic era.

The aims are to promote the implementation of industrial projects in big health, aid Chongqing in building a National Medical City, a medical highland for Western China, a major national medical base, and an internationally renowned health resort.

The pavilion will set up four exhibition areas for health services, women and children's health, healthy living, and elderly care.

It has also received strong support from leading companies in the national health industry.

At the same time, WCIFIT will hold the health care industry forum on May 21st in order to deepen exchange in the health industry along the Belt and Road and jointly discuss the path for development in the medicine and health industry in China.

Domestic and foreign academics, experts, and scholars will gather in Chongqing to focus on strategies for development in the comprehensive health care industry in China, full-scenario cryptographic services in smart hospitals, biopharmaceuticals, and advanced overseas research. Keynote speeches and interactive interviews will be held based on hot topics such as achievements in health.

Supporting events will also be held over the course of WCIFIT, such as the meetings entitled comprehensive health care industry achievements in western China, the conference for comprehensive health care industry enterprise liaisons, the promotion, and application of special technology in traditional Chinese medicine, the health care industry academic exchange, as well as multiple lectures on health knowledge.
