Hungarian Contemporary Artist Zoltan Viczan Solo Exhibition Held in Chongqing

Chongqing- On the afternoon of April 23rd, Hungarian Contemporary Artist Zoltan Viczan Solo Exhibition was unveiled at Hong Kong VA Galleries, Chongqing. The event is organized by the Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing and Hong Kong VA Galleries, and it will last until May 6th.

Zoltan Viczan has been dedicated to glass art for almost 30 years. He has developed his own style of glass engraving and is regarded as one of the top glass engraving artists in modern times. His works have been exhibited and awarded in different parts of the world. Over 40 pieces of his artworks, including glass artworks and paintings, are displayed this time in Chongqing.

At the exhibition, we can see all of these art pieces of Zoltan have a strong Hungarian base, respect and love of nature, and unique Asian influence. He is also an artist who gives lots of effort to details. For example, all animals engraved in the Fauna series look so exquisite and vivid that you can clearly see every bird feather. According to the artist’s introduction, he has learned the traditional way of glass cutting and engraving and abundant skills fundamental for his creation and innovations. Zoltan also believes that it’s artists' ideas that are put in artworks to make the tradition appealing to younger generations.

Meanwhile, at the exhibition, we also find Zoltan uses light projection as an innovative way to display his works. Zoltan said sometimes it’s hard to show tiny patterns to audiences, and the projection can help magnify the details of his artworks.
