Chongqing- The 2021 Asia Enterprise of Tomorrow Conference is a major project of the 3rd Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade, which is to be held in Chongqing Municipality on May 21st.

Invitations have been extended to nearly 200 Chinese and foreign guests, including political representatives from Asian countries, leaders of Fortune 500 companies under development in Asia, senior managers in China, as well as renowned Chinese entrepreneurs, academics, and media figures will meet to hold dialogue and exchange ideas.

The conference has been jointly organized by the Chongqing International Communication Center and Chongqing Foreign Cultural Exchange Association, under guidance provided by the Information Office of the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government and Chongqing Daily News Group. Additionally, the internationally renowned financial news media outlet CNBC has participated in all planning stages of the event.

Participants from 15 countries, including China, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, United States, Germany, UK, Holland, France, and Switzerland, will attend the conference through online and offline seminars themed on Creating Impossible Realities, which will focus on the five key areas of economic recovery in China, smart manufacturing, digital economy and finance, big health, and new logistics.

Prominent figures discuss key international topics

In light of the global pandemic and major shifts in the political landscape internationally, the topic of whether Asia will continue to lead global economic growth as a booming new market will undergo discussion.

As China has achieved the fastest economic growth rate during the recovery process, another topic on the agenda will be how China can explore new development opportunities by overcoming challenges and how Asian and Chinese companies should take advantage.

Former South Korean Prime Minister Lee Nakyeon is scheduled to address the conference through a video speech, while SK Group Chairman Choi Taewon, McKinsey Global Institute partner Seong Jeongmin, Silicon Valley Venture Capital partner William Bao Bean, founder of Xiaokang Group Zhang Xinghai, and other guests will share their strategic views on the development of Asian enterprises.

Mr. Wang Shi, founder and honorary chairman of Vanke Group, will give a keynote speech; Puhua, who once shared the global CEO survey report at the Boao Forum for Asia last month Leung Weijian, the managing partner of Wing Dao's China market, will be present at the meeting to share the PwC Asia CEO survey report.

The conference arena will be hosted live by the famous China Global Television Network anchor Wang Guan, while Lisa Oake, who has worked 16 years for CNBC and possesses vast experience in global economic, business, and political reporting, will host the event online.

The pivotal role of Chongqing in the world economy

According to the Organizational Committee, the first Asia Enterprise of Tomorrow conference will display the strategic importance of Chongqing in the development of the western region, its role as a key link in the Belt and Road Initiative and Yangtze River Economic Belt, and its status as an open inland highland endowed with great natural beauty, as well as highlighting important opportunities presented by its strategic position within the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle.

The 2021 Asia Enterprise of Tomorrow Chongqing Declaration is to be released in collaboration with a number of Asian businesses, with the aims of discussing the formation of a new consensus, ideas, and results for their continued development. Global media will share the main content for a worldwide audience.

As a platform for communication and exchange set up through media collaboration for Asian cities and foreign companies with China, the conference will focus on creating new economic momentum in the post-epidemic era. The latest data from the United Nations shows that foreign direct investment flowing into China has increased by 4%, surpassing the United States to become the top destination worldwide in this field.
