A consumer, through remote control, slowly drove a vehicle up to a display stand at the factory of Chang'an Automobile in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area on May 10. The vehicle is a model of Chang'an UNI-K, which just ran off the production line, bringing the manufacturers' output of the domestic brand vehicle to 20 million units.

This special ceremony also marks the birth of the first Chinese auto brand with an output of 20 million units.

Chang'an entered the auto sector in 1984. The output reached one million units in 2001. The accumulative sales volume surpassed 10 million units in 2014, making it the first Chinese brand automaker that exceeds the figure.

Today, Chang'an Automobile has ushered in the milestone of 20 million vehicles. Moreover, both the output and sales volume have increased by 20 times in the past two decades, obviously showing its momentum of rapid, high-quality development.

This can be attributed to its rich product portfolio for market segments; reputation won in many years and users' faith in the quality and technology of its products.

More importantly, Chang'an has stimulated the appeal of its products by enhancing design and brought better experience to users, by virtue of new energy and intelligent networking technology, in recent years. As a result, the manufacturer has fought a way out of the adverse market and plays a leading role among Chinese auto brands.

In January-April 2021, the sales volume of Chang'an Automobile reached 843,342 units, up 82.3% on a year-on-year basis. The manufacturer has secured year-on-year growth in the 13 consecutive months. At the same time, the average price of the Chang'an passenger vehicle brand has risen 34%.

As of the end of April, Chang'an Automobile has grown into a global automaker with 88 branches or subsidiaries and a sales network covering more than 50 countries and regions and drives 1.5 million jobs in the upstream and downstream industry chain.
