Optimized vaccination services with expanded coverage

The meeting emphasized that corresponding authorities are supposed to ensure a sufficient supply of vaccines and optimize resource allocation so that citizens can receive the first and second doses in time.

Meanwhile, the vaccination services shall be optimized; the advanced experience and practices shall be actively promoted; the coverage shall be expanded, and the vaccination rate shall be improved.

Specifically, the monitor over the entire vaccination process shall be enhanced, and people with abnormal symptoms after vaccination shall be treated in time.

Vaccination doses number exceeds 10 million

Currently, Chongqing has set up more than 1,200 COVID-19 vaccination sites. As of May 6, the total number of COVID-19 vaccination doses administered in Chongqing exceeded 10 million, reaching 10.21 million.

Over the past Labour Day Holiday, all the vaccination sites were open. As a result, more than 207,000 doses were administered in total during May 1 and 4 solely.

Vaccination process conducted orderly

Residents were lining up at the mobile vaccination site of Jinkai Avenue Aegean Place in Liangjiang, New Area, where there were two registration and vaccination sections for efficiency. Nurses were giving careful instructions to citizens and popularized them with relevant knowledge.

Vaccines are highly recognized

In addition to COVID-19 vaccines, vaccines for adults, such as HPV vaccines and flu vaccines, are also gaining social recognition.

Experts proposed, as the age increases, the immunity of middle-aged and elderly people gradually descends, and they are more likely to be vulnerable to facing infectious diseases.

The number of vaccines for children involved in the China National Immunization Program has increased from four to 14, and the number of diseases prevented has increased from five to 15.

According to the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission, the incidence of hepatitis B, poliomyelitis, measles, and other infectious diseases in Chongqing has been reduced to the lowest level in history, and some diseases have been eliminated due to the continuous implementation of immunization plans for many years.

According to the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission, with the major focus on childhood immunization, Chongqing's immunization program has covered the full life-cycle of the entire population. 12 million doses of all kinds of vaccines were administered in 2020, guarding the health of citizens.
