Chongqing - On the evening of May 17, the 7th Class Talent Competition and Class Uniform Designing Competition took place at the auditorium of Sichuan International Studies University (SISU).

The Class Talent Competition and Class Uniform Designing Competition is a unique brand activity of SISU that appeals to classes and students from different colleges to participate each year. According to the introduction, because this year marks the 100 anniversary of the founding of CPC, the theme of the activity was based on the 100 anniversary.

The 12 classes participating in this final competition were chosen from 37 participant classes from 14 colleges this year. At the final phase, the 12 teams will compete for the final awards by displaying their classes’ VCRs that present students’ diversified campus life, class uniforms with creative designs, and unique talents.

The exchanges and communications of different cultures contribute to prosperous and splendid human civilization. At the competition, students applied the features of their majors to their class uniforms. The Dance “Feasting Different Civilization”, staged by the Class 3 of 2020 Majoring in Japanese, fully presented characteristics of Japanese culture. Their class uniform ingeniously combined “Haori” traditional Japanese costume element with “the scales of dragons” the symbol of traditional Chinese culture, which showed the youth’s passion and confidence. The dance “Thai Language League”, performed by the Class 1 of 2020 Majoring in Thai, integrated the Thai-styled dance with Chinese popular music. Their refreshing and impressive dance attracted thunderous applause.

Meanwhile, performances given by participant classes also convey that the Chinese youth are a group of people with aspiration and patriotism. The first award winner was Class 4 of 2018 from the College of Chinese Language and Culture. By combining chorus, poem reciting, and dancing together, their performance displayed the Chinese youth with the dauntless spirit to pursue dreams and conquer adversities. The song “The Brightest Star in the Night Sky” sang in Chinese and Russian by 2020 Russian Department expressed the call of the contemporary youth and their efforts to pursue dreams.

“This activity is one of SISU’s special brand activities. On one hand, it inspires students’ creativity and puts what they have learned into practice. On the other hand, it helps students get united as one.” said Yu Dandan who was in charge of this activity. In the future, SISU will launch abundant interesting activities like this to enrich the campus culture.
