Chongqing - Singaporean entrepreneur Vincent Chia is a veteran organizational development and transformation specialist with over 14 years of experience working for various companies in China. He currently holds a position in the French facilities management company Aden Group as their West China Area Director. He is also one of the guests of the upcoming Asia-Enterprise of Tomorrow (AEOT) Chongqing Summit under the 3rd Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT).

Before opening the AEOT Chongqing Summit, iChongqing managed to schedule an exclusive video interview with Mr. Chia and invited him to talk about his hopes and expectations for the event, Chongqing's strategic locations, and business environment, as well as the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle.

"It is my hope that this conference will allow me to understand the Chongqing government’s future strategy and master plan for business and industry in the Chongqing landscape," said Mr. Chia. "And also help me get to know as many officials as possible to be able to start a conversation on where and how Aden can contribute to this mission the Chongqing government is embarking on."

Mr. Chia believes AEOT has the potential to become an international open platform for Asian enterprises and governments to have conversations, exchange ideas, find common grounds, and forge new cooperations, especially at a time when most of China's neighboring countries are still trying to cope with the fallout of the global pandemic.

The pandemic dealt a chilling blow to the continued and healthy exchange and trade of products and services in the world's various markets, but "the biggest challenge facing many Asian companies during this period would be the restricted accessibility/mobility, issue because of the added expenses and potential risks of traveling internationally," he added. 

"Chongqing's unique geographical advantages and preferential policies from the Central Government make it an ideal strategic point of the Belt and Road Initiative and a convenient logistics hub along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor," Mr. Chia said.

"Although I'm representing Aden, I'm also a Singaporean that shares my government's vision and confidence in Chongqing's potential prowess to take over from the Chongqing Connectivity Initiative, which is a government-to-government project between Chongqing and Singapore."

When asked about China's master plan to build the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, Mr. Chia said that "the overall strategy and initiative is, in and of itself, already a very good regional development plan, but in terms of luring in more international investments and talents, more efforts should be put into ensuring an attractive life experience instead of just creating a better business environment."
