Given this, I believe this event will bring a lot of publicity and opportunities to Chongqing, and will also strengthen the economic foundations for the southwest region of China,” said Li Lei when he was asked how will the AEOT summit contribute to building the conference into an open platform for intercity communication and business-to-business dialogue. Green development: China is on the right way

Besides, Mr. Li shared his insight on how the chemical industry can contribute to sustainable development. “We have technologies on plastics recycling, enabling the recycled plastics to be used for new product production. Is that enough? No, that’s not enough. Because the problems are not generated purely by the plastics manufacturers. The problems are generated collectively by the whole value chain, all the way up to consumers. So we need call for collective efforts from the whole society”, he said, “with the aim to have a sustainable future together.”

In addition, when talking about China’s ambitious goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, Li said, “China is making great efforts to reduce carbon emission, and improving the quality of air, water, and waste management. This is a very encouraging and right direction, and I’m confident that this will help with the high-quality and sustainable development”, he said.
