Chongqing — "By 2025, Chongqing will be built into a first-class Chinese software city, and the Chengdu-Chongqing area will become the 'fourth pole' of Chinese software," said Chen Jinshan, director of the Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Commission.

On June 7, the 2021 China Industrial Software Conference opened in Chongqing. With the theme of “Strengthen Industrial Software, Deepen Digital Transformation”, the participants focused on the strategic deployment of the national industrial software development, high-quality integration, and innovation of industrial software. The conference conducts discussions on industry hot topics such as the innovative application of industrial software technology, assisting the digital transformation of enterprises, and improving the training of industrial software talents.

Industrial software refers to related software and systems used in the industrial field to improve the level of industrial R&D design, business management, production scheduling, and process control. Its core role is to help industrial enterprises improve quality, increase efficiency and reduce costs. To this end, the vigorous support for industrial software has been incorporated into the country's major strategic deployment and has become a major scientific and technological direction of China.

A large number of projects signed

In recent years, Chongqing has deeply implemented the innovation-driven strategy led by big data intelligence and has achieved significant results.

"Chongqing is an important modern manufacturing base in China. It has formed the world's largest electronic information industry cluster and the largest domestic automobile industry cluster, providing fertile soil for the innovation and development of industrial software," said Fu Xiao, Director of the Software Division of Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Commission.

At this conference, Huawei, Kylin Software, Zhongke Chuangda Software and other well-known enterprises and institutions signed cooperation agreements with Chongqing to start the construction of a series of major projects, which will also further empower the high-quality development of Chongqing's manufacturing industry.

The conference also interpreted the "Several Policies to Promote the High-quality Development of the Integrated Circuit Industry and the Software Industry in the New Era", and release the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan for the High-Quality Development of the Chongqing Software Industry" to attract more industrial software companies to Chongqing, and promote enterprises to carry out key core technology research.

Chongqing's second batch of software industrial parks officially unveiled

Besides, the second batch of software industrial parks in Chongqing was officially inaugurated. They are Yuzhong Software Park, Yongchuan Big Data Industrial Park, and Hechuan Cyber Security Industrial City respectively.

The three industrial park covers multiple fields, such as industrial software, fusion application software, emerging technology software, information security software and others. The newly established industrial park reflects Chongqing’s development advantages of complementary functions, data interoperability, and element interconnection.

In recent years, Chongqing has issued a series of policy documents such as Chongqing Software Industrial Park Certification Management Measures (Interim) to promote the cluster development of the software industry. In 2020, four parks including Liangjiang Software Park, Chongqing Software Park, Yubei Xiantao International Big Data Valley, and Chongqing High-tech Software Park are recognized as the first batch of municipal software industrial parks in the city. In the past year, the development of the first batch of software parks has been bloomed, with the industrial scale accounting for nearly 70% of the city's, laying a solid foundation for the high-quality development of Chongqing's software industry.
