On June 8, the 2021 “Beautiful China – Experience with Heart & Eyes” Online Promotion Conference hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism kicked off in Chongqing. Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Zhang Xu, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of Hong Kong Edward Yau, and Secretary for Economic and Finance of Macao Lei Wai Nong delivered video speeches.
The five venues located in Chongqing, Shanghai, Anhui, Hong Kong, and Macao introduced “the Yangtze River Tour” tourism resources and products, and new tourism routes, preferential policies, the scenic spot recovery, and safety measures to the Hong Kong and Macao tourism industry via online interaction.
Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Zhang Xu pointed out in his speech that in 2020, against the backdrop of the continued spread of the global COVID-19 pandemic, the “Beautiful China – Experience with Heart & Eyes” promotion conference was held online for the first time, providing the industries in the Mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao to overcome the difficulties and seek common development. This year, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism again organized the second online promotion activities, promoting two-way travel between Mainland China and Hong Kong and Macao in the post-epidemic era and tourism recovery and revitalization of greater energy. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has always fully implemented the Central Government’s measures to benefit Hong Kong and Macao, supported Hong Kong and Macao to consolidate and enhance their competitive advantages, better integrate into the overall development of the country, supported the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and promoted the continuous and in-depth exchanges and cooperation between the Mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao. It is believed that with the strong support of the Central Government and the active promotion by the governments of Hong Kong and Macao SAR, the tourism industry of Hong Kong and Macao will regain its vitality and create new glory.
In the promotion of “Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle,” the culture and tourism departments of Chongqing and Sichuan Province focused on the magnificent Yangtze River – Poetic Three Gorges, the World Heritage Tour, the Sichuan and Chongqing Food Tour, hot springs and recreation, and other tourism routes and products, showcasing the rich tourism resources and humanistic heritage of the Chengdu-Chongqing region.
Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism took Shanghai’s superior geographical location, exquisite local culture, and the characteristics of the integration of Chinese and Western cultures as the entry point. They focused on promoting ecological tourism represented by Chongming Flower Expo, urban tourism represented by Huangpu River excursions, Shanghai culture tourism represented by local food and coffee. The modern city tourism style is showing vitality and innovation, comprehensively demonstrating the city character of “openness, innovation and tolerance” of Shanghai.
The promotion of Anhui Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism was based on the theme of “Beautiful Anhui – Happy Wanjiang,” with the three famous mountains, three water systems, and three cultures as the veins, showing the good ecology, rich products, splendid culture, novelty and fashion of Wanjiang (Wan River).
Mainland and Hong Kong, and Macao have long been the most important source markets for each other. The “Beautiful China – Experience with Heart & Eyes” promotional activities have played an important role in strengthening culture and tourism exchanges and cooperation between the Mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao and have been warmly welcomed by the tourism industry.
