Chongqing - The 1st Yuelai International Digital Entertainment Industry Expo (IDEE) was held at the Chongqing International Expo Center in Yubei District, Chongqing during the now-concluded Dragon Boat Festival holiday, from June 11 to 14.

Some 60 well-known ACG (animation, comics, and games) enterprises, including CCTV Animation Group, BiliBili, Sparkly Key, Guangdong Alpha, Tianwen Kadokawa, Studio 9, Elite Animation, Mosspaca Studio, Iron Moon, Yoka Games, and Perfect World, were invited to set up exhibition booths at the IDEE expo, according to Liu Chongwen, deputy general manager of Chongqing International Exhibition Center Co., Ltd.

Various activities have been organized at the Central Exhibition Hall and the S2 Exhibition Hall of Chongqing International EXPO Center from June 11 to 14, which is perfect timing for people to relax themselves in their favorite ACG character's cosplay costumes during the 3-day Dragon Boat Festival public holiday.

Taking "Fun, Fashionable Manga Lifestyle, Enjoy New, Joyful Entertainment" as its main theme, the IDEE expo is an important part of the 7th Western China Tourism Industry Expo, which was held together with the 2021 Chongqing International Culture and Tourism Industry Expo this year from June 11 to 14.

The first IDEE expo featured different kinds of thematic events, competitions, performances, and exhibitions ranging from the two-dimensional subculture, gaming and e-sports, to the latest state-of-the-air technology shows. The audience were indulged with an unprecedented international digital entertainment feast of "new trends, new opportunities, new waves, and new experiences" on a total of 40,000 square meter exhibition area, covering the three designated subcategories of original manga paintings, ACG replicas, models, and figurines, as well as freelance photographies.

The organizing committee also invited to the IDEE expo a lot of well-known writers, illustrators, voice actors, producers, composers, and singers in the two-dimensional world to have close interactions with the fans. Such competitions as the "Arena of Valor" open challenge for the internationally famous 5v5 multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) mobile game and the "Legend of the Three Kingdoms" tournament provided a platform for enthusiasts of the digital entertainment industry subcultures.

The Yuelai International Digital Entertainment Industry Expo is sponsored by Chongqing Yuelai Investment Group Co., Ltd., and organized by Chongqing International Expo Center. It's also the first such ACG-themed expo in southwestern China to follow the footsteps of such domestic events as the China International Cartoon & Game Expo.
