Chongqing- The themed photography event One Colorful Day in Chongqing took place in downtown Chongqing Friday and was open to all members of the public.

The event was co-hosted by Chongqing Daily and the Chongqing Photographers Association. It attracted the participation of famous photographers, enthusiasts, and citizens from the districts and counties of Chongqing, who picked up their cameras to record the beauty of Chongqing over a period of 24 hours.

This fifth edition of One Colorful Day in Chongqing shows how the event has become a yearly tradition on the local photography calendar, having been successfully held each year since 2017.

Awards on offer included prizes for first, second, and third place and excellence awards, and monetary prizes.

During the opening ceremony, speakers introduced the central theme of Focus on Nan'an (literally the southern bank of the Yangtze River), and photographers were encouraged to capture the beauty there through interaction.

Mr. Cao of the Chongqing Nan'an District Photographers Association explained the attractiveness of One Colorful Day in Chongqing from his perspective.

"As a citizen of Chongqing, the urban appearance and spirit of the people are constantly developing each day, which is something we are very proud of. I hope to make a record of these changes through photography for everybody to see."

A total of four routes, including Nanbin Road, Nanshan Mountain, and a route themed on economic development, were designed to cover top attractions such as Danzishi Old Street, the Chongqing Museum of Cultural Relics, Longmenhao Old Street, Super Zoo, Chongqing International Circus City, Dongyuan 1891, and many other famous landmarks along the southern bank.

Int'l film and culture festival launched

In addition to the photography event, the grand opening of the Changjiahui·Chongqing International Film and Culture Festival was officially announced by the Communist Party of China Nan'an District Committee, Nan'an District People's Government, and Chongqing Daily News Group.

During the first three months, from June 18th to September 18th, the festival has planned for a series of large scale warm-up events, including One Colorful Day in Chongqing and River City Photography, which will take place before the opening ceremony due to be held on September 19th at Nanbin Road.

In the meantime, citizens and tourists in Chongqing will have the opportunity to admire the work of renowned photographers from both China and abroad at Nanbin Road.

A representative of Chongqing Daily News Group explained, "We hope the International Film and Culture Festival will create a platform for exchange in photography between Chongqing and the world, as well as promoting Chongqing to the world through imagery and visual culture."
