A signing ceremony for jointly constructing the International Cooperation Demonstration Zone of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity (CCI) took place on June 21.

The CCI Administrative Bureau, Chongqing Nan'an District People’s Government, and the Administrative Committee of Chongqing Economic and Technological Development Zone held the signing ceremony.

They will conduct in-depth cooperation in finance, ecological conservation, international logistics, and big data intelligence.

With the aim of jointly building the Changjiahui Western Financial Center and Guangyang Bay Fintech City, the demonstration zone will work hard to advance green finance cooperation and expand cross-border financing channels.

Specifically, they aim to jointly promote the agglomeration and development of international financial institutions and financial business forms in Nan'an District and the Administrative Committee of Chongqing Economic and Technological Development Zone.

Meanwhile, the demonstration zone will focus on creating the Guangyang Isle Smart Innovation Eco-city to actively facilitate Singapore to participate in constructing the Guangyang Isle Ecological Civilization Demonstration Zone.

Focusing on eco-environmental protection, sci-tech innovation, education, culture, healthcare, and urban development, the demonstration zone will develop Nan'an District and the Administrative Committee of Chongqing Economic and Technological Development Zone into a new international ecological area integrating business, emerging industries, education, medical care, life, and leisure.

Promoting the development of an open economy and digital economy is also an important developmental task of the cooperation demonstration zone.

Centering on the construction of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC) and China-Singapore (Chongqing) Dedicated Channel on International Internet Data, all partners will take Chongqing East Railway Station and the logistics park as important nodes, link Guoyuan Port and Nanpeng Logistics Base and integrate them into the overall construction of ILSTC. 

They will encourage enterprises to go global, mainly in the ASEAN region, to connect the markets and resources of the countries along the ILSTC and explore to facilitate cooperation in data center construction among enterprises.

Together, they will contribute to the innovation and development of the big data intelligence industry in Nan'an District and the Administrative Committee of Chongqing Economic and Technological Development Zone.

So far, the two sides have signed the agreements for 118 cooperation projects of various kinds with a total amount of approximately 21.4 billion U.S. dollars and 167 cross-border financing projects with a financing amount of approximately 15.1 billion U.S. dollars.
