Consul-General delegation visits historical spots of the CPC around Chongqing

Chongqing - On June 24th, the Consul-General from the Netherlands, the U.K., Belarus, Denmark, Ethiopia, Philippines, Uruguay, and Cambodia gathered to visit the historical site of CPC in Chongqing, including Hongyan Revolutionary Museum, Zhou Mansion, and Gui Garden.

This trip brought the delegation to the Hongyan Revolutionary Memorial Museum, which comprises Red Cliff Village 13, Zengjia Cliff 50, Guiyuan Garden, and the former site of “Xinhua Daily.”  The place used to be the southern base for CPC Central Committee during the anti-Japanese war. The second spot is the Zhou Mansion, and the last one is the Gui Garden. Members of the delegation learned about the history of Chongqing and expressed their opinions on today's Chongqing development.

iChongqing conducted interviews with Koen Sizoo, Dutch Consul General in Chongqing. He said it is interesting to learn about this city's history. He is glad to witness Chongqing's development during his 5-year stay, and Chongqing has a bright future with initiatives such as the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle.

Anteneh Tariku Feleke, consul general of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Chongqing, indicated that Ethiopia is the only African country with a consulate general in southwest China because Chongqing is a good model for them to learn. He hoped more cooperation could be achieved after the pandemic.
