High-level leaders from Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality and Singapore held a video conference on July 16.

According to the conference, despite the obstacle of the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic to face-to-face communication, the cooperation between the two sides is still as effective as usual. All China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity (CCI) works are moving on as scheduled, and an extensive array of fields have achieved substantial results in their respective cooperation. On top of that, the new International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC) keeps working normally. It expands continuously, playing an important role in stabilizing global industrial and supply chains and revealing its important strategic and realistic significance.

All members from Chongqing and Singapore have worked hard and made great efforts to participate in the project and cooperate. The CCI has been moving forward for half a decade, and it has a promising future with a favorable momentum for further development.

Chongqing has actively promoted the CCI and gained notable achievements made in pandemic prevention and control and economic recovery and development.

Since the implementation of CCI, both sides have kept expanding the space for cooperation and innovating the cooperation mode under concerted efforts, which hopefully contributes to the new achievements in project cooperation. Especially under the background of the outbreak, the trade volume of ILSTC grows against the trend, toughing the tenacity of global industrial and supply chains and positively impacting the economic recovery.

Singapore is willing to join Chongqing to defend against the challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic and make continuous efforts to improve CCI cooperation to a higher level. Both sides will continue to go hand in hand to build the ILSTC together, speed up the construction of trade digitalization, focus on improving interconnection between the two sides, and continuously enhance the reputation and leading force, to give full play to the corridor better. Moreover, both sides will work together to discuss and explore new cooperation, mainly in green finance, green economy, trade digitalization, multi-modal transportation, supply chain guarantee, and so forth, propelling the cooperation to a new step strengthening the new driving force for economic development.
