Chongqing — The 2021 Chongqing Nightlife Festival themed on “Love for Fashionable Chongqing·Life in Sleepless Night” is held from July to September according to Chongqing Municipal Committee of Commerce on July 16.

The nightlife event will roll out nearly 200 nighttime-themed activities integrating consumption promotion, business travel, and cultural elements to create a feast of consumption for all citizens and tourists this summer.

“The nighttime economy has become a new driving force to promote the growth of consumption as well as a new source to grow economy in the city,” said Peng Heliang, deputy director of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce.

In recent years, Chongqing has enriched the nightlife consumption business, organized night market cultural activities, vitalized the atmosphere of nighttime consumption to fuel the continuous increase in Chongqing's impact on the nighttime economy. With these efforts, Chongqing has ranked first in the List of Top 10 Most Influential Cities by Nighttime Economy in China, co-launched by Tencent and Liaowang Institute for two consecutive years.

In this year’s event, Peng suggested that Chongqing has planned a series of activities under the theme of “Love for Fashionable Chongqing” for this consumption season, comprising new products experiencing, summer recreation, shopping, and preparedness to the Spring Festival.

Peng added, among them, as the major part of the “Love for Fashionable Chongqing” summer recreation event, “2021 Chongqing Nightlife Festival” aims to create an international consumption festival to promote consumption utilizing festival celebration, increase consumption supply, activate consumer market, drive the economic growth in nighttime consumption and constantly expand the external influence of the brand of “Night Life in Chongqing.”

It’s worth mentioning that cross-field integration, full-region interconnection, exchanges and cooperation, new consumption experience through the festival organization are much more highlighted in this “Chongqing Night Life Festival.” And the event also pays close attention to integrating commerce, tourism, culture, sports, and all resources from main market players as a strong bedrock to stimulate diversified and multilevel consumer demands and advance consumption upgrading and transformation.

The event will also cooperate with all districts and counties across Chongqing Municipality, Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing High-tech Industrial Development Zone, and Wansheng Economic and Technological Development Zone. And ten distinctively featured theme activities will be organized, including the opening ceremony of 2021 Chongqing Nightlife Festival, China (Chongqing) Nighttime Economic Development Forum and Industrial Forum, "two rivers and four riversides" live streaming broadcast, Chengdu-Chongqing “Night Exploration Plan” activity, nighttime economic vitality data release conference and awarding ceremony of 2021 Chongqing Night Life Festival.
