Chongqing- On July 20, the 5th China Health and Senior Care Conference, Shizhu, Chongqing opened in Huangshui Town, a famous summer resort in Shizhu. The conference is co-sponsored by the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang and the CPPCC Chongqing Municipal Committee. At the opening ceremony, Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County signed 9 Senior Care industry projects with a total investment of 11.03 billion yuan, released the White Paper on the Development of China Shizhu Coptis Chinensis Industry, and also held other activities, including the signing of agreements on Qin Liangyu Culture, the launching of Xituo Ancient Town-National 4A Tourist Attraction, and the awarding of "Top 100 Counties of Sustainable Health and Recreation Industry in China".

More than 200 km² of Chinese herbs are cultivated in Shizhu

Through the investment innovation in the past few years, 47 Chinese herbal medicine row-processing enterprises in Shizhu County have developed a series of Coptis Chinensis products, including Coptis Chinensis flower tea, Coptis Chinensis toothpaste, Coptis Chinensis soap, etc.

In addition, Shizhu has been working on the integrated development of traditional Chinese medicine and the senior care industry. To further promote the high-quality development of the senior care industry, at the opening ceremony, Shizhu County further introduces of 9 enterprises to invest in senior care industry projects with a total investment of 11.03 billion yuan, which will involve a photovoltaic power generation project, winter sports project, and Haitang Valley culture and tourism comprehensive development project, etc.

The added value of the senior care economy in Shizhu reached 50.2% of GDP

In the keynote speech of the opening ceremony, experts and scholars also brought speeches around the traditional Chinese medicine industry and the results of rural revitalization in Shizhu, providing new ideas, new initiatives, and new methods for the development of the special industries in Shizhu.

The road to high-quality development in Shizhu County, focusing on the senior care economy, is getting wider and wider. According to the data, in 2020, the added value of the senior care economy in Shizhu County accounts for 50.2% of total GDP, and it is expected to reach 55% by the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan.
