Chongqing- On July 17, the 5th China Health and Senior Care Conference, Shizhu, Chongqing, was convened in Huangshui Town, Shizhu County. As one of the conference highlights, the Qin Liangyu Culture Seminar was held on July 19.

Qin Liangyu is the only female hero recorded independently as a well-known general of a dynasty in the biographies of generals in authoritative history books in China. In more than 40 years of her life in the army, she made remarkable achievements.

With the theme of Inheritance, Conservation, and Effective Utilization of Qin Liangyu Culture, the seminar explores and studies Qin Liangyu culture to more effectively carry forward, conserve, and utilize the culture.

Eight experts brought a cultural feast

The seminar started with the speech entitled Qin Liangyu Represents Three New Cultures delivered by Kang Zhen, professor at the College of Arts, Beijing Normal University. He said that the historical phenomenon of Qin Liangyu symbolizes the new social values of women: the new female image based on the hero on the battlefield, the new social values of women centering on loyalty to the country, and the new chieftain culture with living in the southwest but having the whole country in mind as the core. The three new cultures are a bridge connecting the cultural traditions and contemporary spirits of Shizhu County.

Guo Xiaoping, Acting Head of the People's Government of Shizhu County, said that, as the hometown of Qin Liangyu, who is the only female hero recorded in authoritative history books in China, Shizhu County boasts a solid foundation for cultural confidence with a profound diversity of Tujia culture, chieftain culture, Qin Liangyu culture, ancient Ba culture and traditional farming culture. Qin Liangyu has set up a spiritual milestone of patriotism, devotion, and perseverance, inspiring countless Tujia sons and daughters to forge ahead and even sacrifice their lives for the country and the people.

Shizhu accelerates the integrated development of culture and tourism

In recent years, Shizhu has seized the major strategic opportunities such as the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, and the coordinated development of "one metropolitan area and two town clusters," and focused on the development theme of "Integrated Healthcare, Green Rise" and the value orientation of "Impressive Tujia · Healthcare Shizhu" to accelerate the development of national ecological health and senior care resort.

Starting from July 19, the Qin Liangyu Culture Research and Sorting-out Project will carry out one-year thematic research in the county. Well-known local and domestic scholars and professors from universities nationwide are invited to form an expert panel. They will use many ways such as field visits, expert symposiums, discussions, and exchanges, and paper writing to fully explore the historical context that Qin Liangyu culture and Shizhu County share and view the history and culture of the county with new perspectives, new ideas, and new patterns.

Next, Shizhu will step up the efforts in commercializing the research results of Qin Liangyu culture, carry out special targeted cultural tourism activities, focus on the concept of "Healthcare Shizhu," strengthen investment promotion, and strive to build the project into a new name card of the county that contributes to rural revitalization.
