Chongqing- The France Work-Study Program in Chongqing was an important base for producing talented individuals, where many disciples first came into contact with Marxism and solidified their faith in this political philosophy. Outstanding figures such as Deng Xiaoping and Nie Rongzhen were among the many graduates who then set off for the world from Chongqing.

Deng Xiaoping was a mere 16 years old when he boarded a ship in Chongqing along with 83 fellow students on August 27th, 1920, which marked the beginning of their courageous journey to France on the Work-Study Program.
