Chongqing- On July 23, the 2021 "Chongqing Guobo Cup" Fencing Club League (Chongqing·Yuelai) started at the Chongqing International Expo Center. Until the 26th, 4000 fencers from all over the country are gathering in Chongqing to participate in the high-level event, a cornerstone of competitive sport and tourism.

This league match was organized by Chongqing Yuelai Investment Group Co. As an A-level event of the Chinese Fencing, this event drew nearly 4000 fencers, more than 20,000 people, and 113 professional referees. Among them, Luo Pingbei, director of the Referee Committee of the Chinese Fencing Association and known as "the best fencing referee in China," participates in this event as a special representative.

First A-level fencing competition

It is also the first time for Chongqing to introduce the national A-level fencing competition. In recent years, fencing has been gaining momentum in China, and the number of participants in fencing has increased dramatically. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, China's Sun Yiwen won the women's individual epee fencing gold medal, which will certainly bring new impetus to this kind of sport in China.

To this end, Chongqing International Expo Centre has made full use of its S1-S3 venues, which cover a total area of over 30,000 square meters, to create a top-notch and complete fencing track with international service standards, equipped with international hardware facilities and a spacious and bright competition environment to provide the best experience for participants of different ages, preferences, and genders from all over the country and to ensure the smooth running of the competition.

Smart technology to help

Chongqing International Expo Centre made full use of technology to help upgrade the event experience to present a perfect fencing event. The intelligent "Yuelai Sports" app was a masterpiece of the event.

“In addition to the athletes, all parents and accompanying persons can make reservations and book hotels on the app in advance. Participants and their parents can also get to know the match information, the results, and the photos of the scene immediately through the app.” Liu Chongwen said.

Also, there is a “hidden” travel guide to the mountain city in the mini program. The guide introduces the top 10 most popular landmarks in Chongqing, including travel routes, food tips, and popular spots, offering participants from all over the country a completed and useful travel guides, giving them a chance to enjoy the 8D magic geography and folklore of the mountain city while enjoying the excellent match.

Liu also said that in the future, Chongqing International Expo Center would upgrade the Chongqing Youth Fencing Championship and also create and introd00uce more high-level sports events to help Chongqing build a strong sports city.
