Chongqing- As victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression approached, the future development path for China became a hot topic of discussion between the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Kuomintang (KMT). During this time, Chongqing was chosen as the location for a historical round of negotiations over their grand plans for reconstructing the nation.

Mao Zedong arrived in Chongqing on August 28th, 1945 with a courageous reputation. Over the course of 43 days, he actively furthered peace negotiations between the CPC and KMT, conducted multi-level work on the United Front, and met with prominent figures from all walks of life, including three American soldiers from the 14th Flying Tigers Squadron.
