After three years of efforts, China's first provincial (municipal) city management big data platform — the Chongqing City Management Big Data Platform has taken shape. With the platform's advanced technology of AI-based prediction, problems can be identified in advance with an accuracy rate of 90%, according to the Chongqing City Administration.

The Chongqing Smart City Management Command Center displays real-time data of varied fields on a huge screen with a radar induction function.

For example, the high risks of "road damage" and "random piles of materials" in the coming week will be timely reported to relevant districts and counties, urging them to take countermeasures, according to the person in charge of the Municipal Information Center of the Chongqing City Administration.

The city's capability of "preventive treatment" is based on the city management big data platform.

The platform consists of five core collection and aggregation systems, clean-up and management, sharing and exchange, mining analysis, and visual application. It has gathered 101 government information systems and 115 million pieces of data in the city management industry, established 21 theme databases, and innovated decision-making aid models for city management performance evaluation, forecasting and early warning, and correlation analysis.

Big data can predict certain trends through algorithm models.

In addition to building the "biggest brain" for city management, Chongqing is also exploring the application of intelligent technologies in refined city management. Through the continuous upgrading of the intelligent system, more types of city management issues will be included in the supervision scope of the intelligent system.
Up to now, Chongqing has released more than 150,000 video monitoring sites for public safety.

More than 3,700 intelligent monitoring and disposal sites for septic tanks and 15 monitoring systems for the operation of municipal river-spanning bridges have been completed in the city proper. Twenty thousand on-street parking spaces have been intelligently transformed, and more than 100 intelligent public toilets have been added.

Chongqing's core area of the Two Rivers and Four Riversides has secured a full coverage of intelligent control of city lighting.
