The Fourth Industrial Internet and Intelligent Manufacturing Forum was held in Chongqing under the theme of Empowering Intelligent Manufacturing, Leading the Future, on August 24 during the Smart China Expo 2021.

The forum gathered nearly 200 participants, including renowned experts in Industrial Internet and intelligent manufacturing and representatives from relevant government departments and enterprises.

Industrial Internet Industry Investment Fund

At the forum, the Industrial Internet Industry Investment Fund of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle was established.

Specifically, it serves as the first Industrial Internet industry investment fund jointly invested by the two governments of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and the first equity investment fund initiated by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology.

With the total amount of 500 million yuan (about 77.2 million U.S. dollars), the fund will focus on various fields in the Industrial Internet industry and mainly invest in segments, including intelligent manufacturing, communication networks, industrial platforms, industrial software, industrial supply chains, industry application solutions, etc.

Through capital empowerment for the development of high-quality Industrial Internet enterprises, the fund aims to expedite coordinated development of the Industrial Internet industry in Chengdu and Chongqing and advance the construction of integrated development demonstration areas of Industrial Internet in the two cities the building of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.

China Mobile 5G IoT Open Laboratory

In addition, Chongqing also witnessed the establishment of China Mobile 5G IoT Open Laboratory and held a launching ceremony for the laboratory at the forum.

"The laboratory was established to advance 5G industry development, facilitate integrated application in the industry, improve research and development testing standards, and build an open ecology of the Internet of Things (IoT)," said the person in charge of the laboratory.

With the positioning of a first-class 5G IoT industry integration ecological platform in China, the laboratory focuses on accelerating the maturity of 5G industry terminals, applications, and solutions, improving delivery capabilities, and speeding up the large-scale promotion of 5G business.

The laboratory can offer basic communication testing services and certification testing support for 5G industry terminals, provide a standard testing environment for terminal manufacturers, and enable rapid access to China Mobile's 5G industry terminals networks.

Furthermore, it can also render end-to-end industry application testing services to key industry segments, keep enhancing technical capabilities, and form industry application testing specifications and application scenario configuration templates.

Meanwhile, the laboratory can offer research & development security services to partners and support test results operation and promotion.

Relying on the empowerment of three major resources: network, technology, and integration. The laboratory strives to provide the industry with IoT end-to-end capacity support based on China Mobile's chips, sensors, modules, terminals, platforms, applications, and other IoT-based capabilities.
