Chongqing- The Jiangbeizui Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Park was inaugurated on September 3, and five companies, including Chongqing International Investment Consultation Group Co., Ltd., were awarded Postdoctoral Research Workstations, which reaches 447 with newly recruited 605 post-doctoral students in the municipality.

The Jiangbeizui Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Park is the third postdoctoral innovation and entrepreneurship park in Chongqing, after the Liangjiang New Area Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Park and the Chongqing High-tech Industrial Development Zone Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Park.

At present, the Jiangbeizui Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Park has gathered a total of 10 post-doctoral research workstations, including three national-level workstations and seven municipal-level workstations.

There are 49 post-doctoral students on the station, covering the Bank of Chongqing, Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd., National Financial Certification Center of Chongqing, Western Financial Research Institute of Chongqing, as well as other financial institutions and scientific research units.

According to Peng Yanxi, Vice President of Bank of Chongqing, the Bank of Chongqing will rely on its post-doctoral research workstation to create an open environment and effectively strengthen the construction of research capabilities.

"Banks like us must unite knowledge and action, aiming at the transformation of results, and integrating production and research to enable high-quality development," said Peng. "We must strengthen technological innovation and data governance, and serve more innovation needs with stronger innovation capabilities."

The Jiangbei District is home to 31 post-doctoral research workstations so far. The team of post-doctoral research workstations has been further expanded, and the force of scientific research has been further strengthened.

According to the person in charge of the relevant departments of Jiangbei District, next, they will start from building the national parks or stations, holding post-doctoral coffee clubs and topic releases, innovating achievements transformation and financing services, and implementing the leading talent training and reserve plan in the financial industry.

Focusing on the high-quality development of the financial industry and the construction of the western financial center and promoting the high-quality gathering of financial talents, the high-level doctoral and post-doctoral talents will be introduced, and the incubation and cultivation of talent projects will also be enhanced.

In recent years, Jiangbei District has put talent work as a key task. The district continued to implement key district-level talent training projects, improved the catalog of talent classification and recognition, and encouraged establishing professional and technical personnel cooperation training mechanisms between public institutions and counterparts in Deyang and other regions to carry out personnel exchanges.

To gather more high-level innovative post-doctoral researchers, the city has formulated corresponding supporting funding policies to provide priority and convenience in terms of the project application, title review, and achievement transformation.

447 Post-doctoral workstations in Chongqing

According to the Chongqing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, since the beginning of the year, the post-doctoral research workstations of Chongqing have reached 447, with a total of newly recruited 605 post-doctoral students.

Among them, Chongqing post-doctoral fellows were selected for 135 projects funded by the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation with funding of 11.75 million yuan (approximately 1.82 million U.S. dollars), a year-on-year increase of 60% and 52%. 183 projects were selected from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, with a funding amount of 51.94 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 44% and 46% respectively. Chongqing will continue to implement the 18 Golden support policy for the innovation and development of post-doctorates and provide comprehensive subsidies of up to 1.04 million yuan to each post-doctoral student in Chongqing, ranking top in China.

"Jiangbeizui will mainly focus on strengthening the talent support of its financial development, by promoting the organic integration of intellectual resources and industrial development, and achieving deep resonance between high-end talents and the financial industry," said Li Yong, director of the Chongqing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau. "It is also a useful practice to better serve the post-doctoral talents for the whole city."
