As we enter September, the countryside of Chongqing is dyed golden with large, heavy ears of rice. In the Longhe Town in Fengdu County Long River valley, the autumn breeze is blowing, and the golden ears of rice are dancing in the wind, forming layers of golden rice waves. In the Shibao Village, people start to harvest the rice, and their faces are filled with the joy of harvest. The freshly harvested corn, potatoes, peanuts, peppers, and other crops were being dried one by one in the dams. There is a busy scene everywhere.
The Long River is one of the 18 national demonstration rivers and lakes in China, with beautiful scenery, high mountains, and dense forests on both sides. As the mother river of Fengdu County, it has irrigated the rich land on both sides and nurtured generations of the people.
The Longhe Town and the Lizi Township have traditionally been known throughout the country as the home of tribute rice. Every year in Autumn, all the people in the family will come out into the fields, work hard in the harvest season, and fill the barn with plump grain.
