Chongqing- Themed on Linking New Industries and Building New Ecosystems, the 2021 Smart China Expo Blockchain Summit Forum, which was held on September 16 in Chongqing, aims to create an important platform for the development, exchange, and cooperation of the blockchain industry in China, and innovatively use blockchain technology to empower the real economy.

Blockchain energizes economic application scenarios

At the blockchain summit forum, experts and scholars and enterprise representatives delivered speeches on blockchain technology innovation and released scenarios around blockchain empower industrial development.

At the same time, they presented awards to selected enterprises of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for the 2021 Big Data Industry Development Pilot Demonstration Project and launched the 2021 Smart China Expo National Blockchain Competition and the first "Xinghuo Cup" blockchain application competition.

Since 2018, the Smart China Expo Blockchain Summit Forum has been held for four consecutive sessions, becoming a national first-level and far-reaching industry brand.

The success of this forum will accelerate the innovative application and ecological construction of blockchain in the western region and even nationwide.

This can also subsequently help blockchain empower the economy, striving to build Chongqing as an important national demonstration platform for blockchain industry development, communication, and cooperation.

The competition attracted over 200 teams from the globe

The 2021 Smart China Expo National Blockchain Competition and the first "Xinghuo Cup" blockchain application competition aim to develop blockchain applications and new infrastructure construction jointly.

The competition focuses on various areas, including blockchain plus finance, supply chain, government, etc., covering real economy, public service, and technology integration. It is oriented around the application scenarios and problems, with the participants from individuals, enterprises, and social groups.

Moreover, feasibility, commercial value, advancement of technology, the integrity of schemes are all the major aspects of the event are much accounted for to promote the application of excellent projects on the ground and create a model of Chongqing, which enables Chongqing and even the national blockchain industry development to reach a new level.

Based on the support of Chongqing blockchain public service platform - "Yukuai Chain" 1.0, the 2020 Online Smart China Expo Blockchain Application Innovation Competition was successfully held.

The competition has attracted more than 200 teams from around the world, with over 60 development projects covering over 20 application scenarios. As a result, a large number of outstanding talents and high-quality projects have settled in Chongqing, further facilitating the development of the blockchain industry in Chongqing.

China's first blockchain digital economy industrial park

In recent years, Yuzhong District has taken the lead in promoting the blockchain industry and building the first domestic blockchain-themed digital economy industrial park, Chongqing Blockchain Digital Economy Industrial Park, with nearly 4.5 million-square-meter area.

There have been gathered more than 200 medium and large enterprises such as IBM, Inspur group, Chongqing Qulian Digital Technology Co., Ltd, etc., and more than 3,450 big data intelligence-related enterprises.

In addition, the industrial park has landed the first provincial-level blockchain application innovation industry alliance, establishing supporting systems for production, education, and research, such as a blockchain testing and certification center and a blockchain talent training center.

Statistics show that the total output value of the industrial park in 2020 exceeds 30 billion yuan (4.64 U.S. Dollars). The output value of the digital economy category is over 16 billion yuan, and the proportion of technology-based enterprises is over 60%.

According to the data report released by the Saidi Blockchain Research Institute of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the park's comprehensive competitiveness in blockchain ranked fifth all over the country. It was selected by the China Industry Blockchain Summit as the core gathering area of blockchain in China in 2020.

In the future, Yuzhong District will take Chongqing Blockchain Digital Economy Industrial Park and Chongqing Blockchain Application Innovation Industry Alliance as the main body for industrial development and the integration of blockchain technology, with the real economy as the mainline of application.

Yuzhong District will pay much attention to the construction and operation of blockchain infrastructure and the demonstration applications of blockchain in various fields.

This will accelerate the construction of a pioneering demonstration zone for innovation and development of blockchain in central and western China and a new highland for the development of the blockchain industry facing the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity (CCI) New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
