Scientific and technological innovation, as well as digital transformation, are conducive for Chongqing to cultivate green and low-carbon advanced manufacturing clusters, noted Yin Zheng, executive vice-president of Schneider Electric and president of Schneider Electric China, in a written interview during the 16th Annual Meeting of the Chongqing Mayor’s International Economic Advisory Council.

Yin added that upgrading traditional advantages will help Chongqing to build a scientific and technological innovation center with national influence, and accelerate the construction of the modern industrial system.

At the 16th Annual Meeting of the CMIA, Yin stressed that with the goal of achieving “peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060”, scientific and technological innovation, and digital transformation have become an important starting point for enterprises to gain competitiveness and achieve sustainable development.

National Green Factory

Chongqing has always been the core area of Schneider Electric to promote the development of central and western China.

In 2012, Schneider Electric invested in the construction of Schneider Electric Manufacturing (Chongqing) Co., Ltd. in Chongqing Wanzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone. The factory is not only the benchmark factory of intelligent manufacturing in Chongqing, but also the "zero-carbon factory" that Schneider Electric aims to build.

The factory won the title of "National Green Factory" awarded by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Schneider Electric will deepen cooperation with Wanzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, help build a green intelligent manufacturing exhibition center, and lead the transformation and upgrading of Chongqing's manufacturing industry.

China's first green intelligent manufacturing center

In 2018, in order to promote the further green transformation of Chongqing's manufacturing industry, Schneider Electric planned to build China's first green intelligent manufacturing innovation center in Chongqing High-Tech Industrial Development Zone.

This is to help local enterprises and the surrounding small and medium-sized enterprises, realizing the leapfrog development from traditional manufacturing to green intelligent manufacturing.

In the future, relying on its experience of Chongqing, Schneider Electric is aiming to build a green intelligent manufacturing innovation center in Chengdu, accelerate the overall industrial upgrading of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, and join hands with partners in the ecology field to further promote the development of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.
